Brokeback Mountain soundtrack #1!
The Brokeback Mountain soundtrack is the #1 music seller on Amazon! I've been listening to it obsessively for weeks, and I didn't think anybody else had noticed it. I guess a Golden Globe Best Song win for the fabulous "A Love That Will Never Grow Old" made people pay attention.

I believe the sound track is beautiful even though I would not have chosen 1/2 the songs they played. It seemed there was no connection between the music, except it genre was more or less Western or country music.
And in that genre there are songs that break your heart open as did BBM. Ray Charles "Ï Can't Stop Loving You" Waylon Jennings & Merle Haggard duet "You Are My Sunshine" thnink about that one: two men singing a love song to each other as an upbeat anthem to love lost.
Dolly Parton or Bonnie Raitt singing "Haunted Heart." I also think they should have featured that Tejano ranchero, heard in the background on one of Jack Twist's forays cruising male prostitutes in Nogales so popular in South Texas & No. Mexico as the counter theme of liberated love, open to all, celebrated as joyous and human. --Michael O'Neill
